"Thomas S. Rees of New Market street died of apoplexy at Retreat Asylum on Friday,
where he had been for a month.
"Deceased was born in Carmarthamshire, Wales, in 1864, and came to this country in
1885. He was a well known tenor and was a member of the Dr. Mason Glee Society, and the
members will sing at the funeral. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Odd
Fellows also. He is survived by his wife and three sons and four step-daughters - Thomas,
Ambrose and Stanley, Margaret Jane, Nellie, Blodwen and Edna, and a brother in this city,
Jacob Rees.
"The funeral will take place to-day at 2 p.m., with interment in the City Cemetery.
Rev. Dr. T.D. Roberts will officiate."
