Hi Tamara,
Denbighshine is in North Wales, please click on the link below, then you can see
how far away Staffordshire is, in those day Birmingham & Walsall were all part
of Staffordshire

Subject: [WALES-GEN] place name help please!
Hello everyone : )
I was wondering if someone would be able to help locate a place in Wales for me
please. This is the area my ancestor came from in Wales so I would dearly love
to know what part of Wales this branch of the family are from.
My ancestor was OWEN JONES born circa 1830 at PEATRY or PENTRY DENBIGHSHIRE
WALES. He was a coal miner and probably had a brother named Edward.
Searching for this place has been so frustrating. There seems to be so many
variations of this town name. I'm guessing that perhaps it was Pentre as I
haven't been able to find a Peatry. Owen came to Staffordshire sometime around
1851 where he was visiting with an Edward Jones (two years older than Owen) at
Hanley (the potteries area). He married and had children at Hanley/Burslem. So
I think perhaps this town in Wales wasn't too far from the border of
Staffordshire. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I did post to
the Denbighshire list and received no reply. I haven't received any mail
through that list either so perhaps it doesn't have many subscribers at the
moment. Thank you,
Tamara.
