"At 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon occurred the death of Elizabeth Ann, the
young wife of Hugh E. Hughes, and daughter of Mrs. Susannah Richards, at her home at
Warrior Run, after an illness of five weeks of typhoid fever. She was 28 years, 8 months
of age, and was born in Gogenan, South Wales, and came to this country with her parents
about eleven years ago, and has since resided here. About eight years ago she was married
to Hugh Hughes, and two children were born to them. She was devoted to her husband and
children and her married life was full of happiness. Throughout her illness she was
patient and uncomplaining. She was an earnest Christian and a faithful member of the
First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, two children, Laura, aged 7, and
Myfanwy, aged 4; her mother, Mrs. Susannah Richards; two brothers, William J. and John E.
Richards, and one sister, Miss Susie Richards, all residents of Warrior Run. The funeral
will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon. Services at the house. Interment will be
in Hollenback Cemetery."
