"Mrs. William Lloyd of South Empire street died at her home on Thursday night of
cancer, after a lingering illness. The deceased was 56 years of age, and had resided in
this city for twenty-two years, she having come to this city in 1874 from Cardiganshire,
South Wales. She was of a quiet and retiring disposition and was highly esteemed by many
acquaintances. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Kate, and a son, David of
Warrior Run. The funeral took place yesterday, with services at the house, and was
largely attended. Rev. J.T. Lloyd of the First Welsh Baptist Church officiated. The pall
bearers were William R. Williams, Thomas E. John, William L. Jones, John M. Evans, Samuel
S. Moyle and Richard T. Edwards. Interment was at Hollenback Cemetery."
