Subject: Ogan and Talley for DNA
Hello,
I'm seeking anyone who connects to the Ogan and Talley (any spelling)
surnames. I operate a DNA project for each of these names and we
would love to find some people in Wales who would be interested in
testing. We are trying to track from where our Ogans and Talleys (two
separate lines) came from in the UK and feel this may help.
We have tested 6 different Ogan families in the US and 11 Talley/Tally
families are being processed now.
Even if you aren't interested in testing...or aren't a male with the
surname Ogan or Talley...I'd love to hear from you if you descend from
these surnames.
I would also appreciate knowing where in Ireland these surnames tend
to be. I realize these surnames may not be prominent in Wales now,
but people have moved around in the recent years.
Thank you,
Emily

Hello Emily, In support of your project, we have a concerted effort to
tie together Rhydderch-Roderick Families of Wales together through Y
chromosomal DNA
see:http://www.FamilyTreeDNA.com/surname_join.asp?
code=G67048&special=true.
One of our Rhydderch-Roderick families comes from ;the Tally area, but
unfortunately we do not as yet have a Y chromosomal sample from them.
In any event, comparing your data from that area on the Ogan Family
with ours may be interesting and potentially very useful.
By the way we heartily encourage all Welsh Rhydderch-Roderick Families
to participate in this Y DNA project.
Please keep in touch.
Thank you.
