"Yesterday morning Mrs. Ann Mason, an aged lady, residing with her daughter, Mrs.
Thomas Nightingale, on New Market Street, died after a brief illness. Her health had been
failing for several months in consequence of an accident she received from a fall. She
was a native of Aberystwith, Wales, but had been a resident of this valley for the past 21
years. She leaves the following adult children, all of whom are married and have
families: Mrs. David E. Morris, Mrs. Thomas Nightingale, of this city; Mr. Edward R.
Mason, Scranton; Mrs. Edward Powell and Mrs. Elias Griffiths, of Nanticoke; Mrs. David
Evans, of Aberystwith, Wales. She had been a life long member of the Welsh Baptist
Church, but during her declining years had affiliated herself and her children with the
Welsh M.E. Church of this city. The funeral will take place on Sunday from the residence,
433 New Market Street, at 2 o'clock. Interment in the City Cemetery. Rev. Isaac
Jenkins will officiate."
