Hi Pam
According to my British atlas there is a Brighton in Sussex,
Brighton-le-sands near Liverpool, Lancashire, and Brightons in Falkirk
Scotland, but none listed in Wales. If I were you I would be sticking with
the Sussex option as Newick is about 25 km north of Brighton Sussex. Have
you tried joining a Sussex list? Someone there may be able to look up the
parish register of Newick for you.
Good luck
Lorna
Sydney.
