Hello,
I'd like to re-post my interest in a LEWIS family which was living in
Liverpool in the early 1870's.
John Lewis was listed as an Attorney on his son's Marriage Certificate.
His wife's name was Isabel (??) Lewis.
John and Isabel Lewis had 5 children, Ages 14 to 7, who became homeless
around 1872/3. When the "Liverpool Sheltering Homes" opened in Liverpool
in 1873, these 5 children went to live there. They were shipped out in
1874 and sent to Halifax, NS.
I know ... nothing..... about this couple, John and Isabel Lewis. If
their set of twins, first-born, were born in 1859, then I am guessing they
were married in the 1850's.
In Liverpool in the 1860's/1870's? What is the best guess as to how ...
Attorney John Lewis ... lost his life? Illness? Disease? Heart
Attack? Murdered? Accused of Murder? Train Accident?
There was a John and Isabel Lewis who married ten or so years earlier.
But, I have not received any further information on this couple.
Thank you for whatever information you can offer. Have a good evening!
