Dear Wales-Gen,
Did you know that there will be a week-long course just on Welsh
records and research in January 2008 in Salt Lake City? This course will be one of ten
offered at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, hosted by the Utah Genealogical
Association, at the Radisson hotel January 7-11, 2008. Classes will end by early afternoon
each day to take advantage of the Family History Library, located just two blocks away.
Here is the course description:
Course 3: Welsh Research
Patronymics and a smaller variety of names are just two of the many
challenges with Welsh research. This course will address many such challenges while
examining available records. The course has been designed for the intermediate to
advanced family history researcher. Students should bring their Welsh family history
research with them.

This course will be coordinated by Marianne Crump, who has 40 years
British genealogical experience including field research in Wales. Other instructors
will be Blaine Crump and Darris Williams, AG, a nationally recognized Welsh researcher and
teacher.
