Hello Lois , and welcome to the list, from looking at Google and other
search engines it seems that The Welsh Metropolitan War Hospital
was in peacetime the Cardiff City Asylum. see
http://www.1914-1918.net/hospitals_uk.htm
I cannot find any information about it on the web
but you may be more sucesssful.
There is a website called the Rossbret Asylums Website
at
http://www.institutions.org.uk/asylums/
but it does not appear to cover Cardiff at the moment
but it might be worth checking in the future as it develops.
Best Wishes Peter.

Subject: [WALES-GEN] Whitchurch War Hospital
Hello all
I have just joined the list and hope that I am on the correct on for the
question I have.
My great uncle was wounded in WW1 and sent to Welsh Metropolitan War
Hospital in Cardiff. I wondered if there was a web site that would give
any
information or perhaps a photo of the hospital?
Thanks in advance.
