m. February 11, 1766-1781 Totnes, Devon by Banns
parents of:
1. William George LAVERS c. Aug. 7, 1766
2. James John LAVERS b. 1767 c. Jan. 2, 1768
The family later moved to: Kent, England
St. Michael's Parish, Bristol, Gloucester, England
James John LAVERS x Mary RENNELS / REYNOLDS
m. July 6, 1785 Totnes, Devon parents of: John LAVERS-LAVIS
James John later joined up with his brother William George.
Family memory states:
About 1789, William George and James John were employed by
the Hudsons Bay Shipping Company.
By 1790, they were sent to Quebec, Canada about a wrecked vessel.
When they came across the Atlantic, they went aground within the
Straits of Bell Isles. They then made their way in a dory to
French Cove, Bell Island. Near St. Barbe, Flowers Cove,
Newfoundland. William George couldn't find a vessel back to England,
so he went to Halifax, Nova Scotia. While there he married 3 times.
James John later settled at Port au Croix, NFLD.
