Edward and Mary Evans sailed from Wales c1850-1860 with their daughter
Mary(and possibly other children) and settled first in Oneida Co., New York
before heading to the plains(Rome NY is the Oneida Co. seat). Daughter
Mary(my great great was 8 or 9 years old).
Which records on either side of the pond would be most relevant to finding
the location of their home in Wales, and possibly more of my ancestors in
Wales? I have Daughter Mary's obit - - all it gives is her parents and
siblings names and that they were from Wales. I'd love to find a county(ies)
to narrow my search in, so I can subscribe to a particular counties rootsweb
list.
We have in a family bible the name of a Wales townland by the name of
Llanaeglis or Llanarglis - - but several inquiries to history academicians
in the UK have not been fruitful.
Any help would be hot!!
