Hello All,
I have a mystery on my hands I am hoping someone may be able to help with! I am trying to
find information on the following: Thomas Deveney. He married an Elizabeth Kate Clinnick
in Plymouth in 1885. His father is listed as Owen Deveney on the marriage certificate. I
have been unable to find birth or death listings for either of them. Family lore has it
that Thomas was in the Marines, which would fit with the following. However, on the 1901
census it says he is born in Manchester. So... I was just wondering if a mistake was
made! If anyone has any information on the following Thomas Deveney (particularly
father's name), it would be most appreciated. I would like to be able to wipe him out
as a possible or alternatively further investigate him. (as a matter of interest, the
hospital below is only .5 of a mile from where his (?) future wife lived).
Thank you.
