I have been reading some of the Youngstown, OH. newspapers for
1930 and found this obit. I have no connection to this family, just
hoped that someone may find it useful.
Funeral services for William J. WILLIAMS, aged 75, of Pittsburgh,
former well-known Youngtown steel worker, who died at 8:15p.m.
Tuesday at his home at 64 Vernon Drive Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh,
will be held at two p.m. tomorrow at the home.
Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
Mr. WILLIAMS was born in Cardiff, Wales, and came to Pittsburgh
in 1880. He was a steel roll designer and a roll turner.
Mr. WILLIAMS had worked in the mills of the Youngstown Sheet &
Tube Co., Brown Bonnell mills, Valley Mill, Youngstown Foundry &
Machine Co., Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., Westinghouse Co., Sieman-
Sleeth Co., McIntosh-Hemphill & Co., franklin Rolling Mill, at Franklin, Pa.;
Cambridge Rolling Mill, at Cambridge, O., and Cumberland Rolling Mill, of
Cumberland, Md.
Mr. WILLIAMS retired in 1920.
He leaves his wife, Marie MUELLER WILLIAMS, a daughter, Mrs. Rose
McGINNIS, one grandson, Charles Allen McGINNIS Jr., and three sisters,
Emily JONES of Mt. Oliver; Mrs. Delia HOWELLS, and Mrs. Polly THAYER,
of Cardiff, Wales.
