"Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock occurred the death of Sarah, wife of Thomas
Waters of Larksville, after an illness of spinal trouble. She bore her suffering with
Christian fortitude. She became a member of the Baptist Church in her youth. Deceased
was born in Glamorganshire, South Wales, in 1839. She emigrated to America in 1870 and
settled in Carbondale, where she remained until 1873, and came to Larksville, and there
remained until the time of her death. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, always
dutiful to the welfare of her family, respected by all with whom she came in contact. As
the spirit winged its flight she was surrounded by her husband and family, consisting of
the following children: Daniel of New Jersey; Mrs. James H. Evans, Forty Fort; Mrs.
Joseph Keller and Llewellyn, Plymouth Township; Mrs. Lewis Davis, Westmoor; Mrs. Bernard
Law and Mrs. Abner Robbins, Kingston. Funeral on Friday at 2 o'clock, Rev. W.J. Day
officiating, and interment in the family plot at Forty Fort Cemetery."
