I think that the people who might be on this list are on the individual
county lists, Caernarvon, Merionethshire, etc. I have been on this list for
quite a while and seldom see a post.

This List is the quietest List I am subbed to!! In fact it has been silent
for the last 3 weeks so I shall be v interested to see if you get an answer.
Like you I have never done any research in Wales before and will be pleased
if there is any suggestions as to where I can look for help. I am interested
in a relative of mine who moved to LLandudno in the early years of the last
century but have had no replies yet.
Sorry I can't be of more help

Subject: [WALES-GEN] Ann MORGAN of Radnorshire
Hello List,
I am new to Welsh research, but have been doing my family tree for a
number of
years.
I would like to find out what, if any, resources are available online to
help me
in my search of Ann MORGAN.
This week I found out that this lady married into my family. Ann MORGAN
was tried
at the Radnor Quarter Sessions on 18 April 1828 for the theft of a
watch (although she had two prior offences), and was sentenced to a term of 7
years in New South Wales.
Ann MORGAN was on board the "Princess Royal", which departed 6 January
1829, and arrived in New South Wales on 9 May 1829. I have no idea if she spent
the time difference between her conviction and sailing on board one of the
hulks, or in a gaol.
>From her convict records, Ann was 19 years old in 1829, and her death
record
shows she was 42 years old in 1852. So it seems Ann MORGAN was born around
1810, and was a native of Radnorshire. The only Ann MORGAN listed on the IGI
around this time was baptised in 1813 in Llanbadarnfawr.
I would like to find out a bit more about Ann MORGAN if possible. The
records in
Australia have no more information on her beginnings, so I have no
idea where she came from, who or parents were, or anything else. If anyone can
suggest a few websites for me to explore, or if Ann MORGAN is on their tree, I
would appreciate hearing from you.
Many thanks, fingers crossed I can learn a bit more about Ann.
Cheers
Trish
