Subject: [WALES-GEN] Welsh Census Information
Hello everyone. I am searching for 2 relatives of mine, Ralph &
Dominic
FERRIE/FERRI/FERRE who came to Britain from Italy in approx 1865-1870.
Information about the origin of these two brothers is very scarce (I have
the 1881,
1891
& 1901 information on them) but it appears from distant family
sources
that
they initially came to Wales from Italy, and then moved into England.
The
next
information I have is that Dominic had 'married' (no marriage
record can
be
found) a Liverpool lady and had a son born in Staffordshire by 1872.
There is
no trace of either brother in the 1871 census of Liverpool or
Staffordshire,
so they may have been still in Wales at the time of the 1871 census.
Can
anyone please advise me whether the Welsh census' are name indexed and, if
so,
where the indices can be consulted?
Any help would be gratefully received.
A Williams
