Thanks, Cuz,
I'll keep your address in case I come up with a connection, but there sure
were a lot of Hughes in that 'neck of the woods'.

Subject: [WALES-GEN] Hughes in Amlwch
Hello Ellen,
Yes indeed, ROOSE is quite prevalent in Amlwch as I discovered on going into
the CD version of the UK census and putting ROOSE into the search, so it
looks as if Margaret was patronimically named after a relative or friend
perhaps, but finding out who, then thats another story! It shouldn`t be too
difficult to find someone with access to the parish records who might do a
look up for you on the Anglesey list. It`s not a terribly busy list so you
won`t be inundated with mail.
My maternal Grandmother was born in Amlwch 1865 and she was a Hughes so they
probably knew each other or even related! My cousin is doing that side of
the family but not as enthusiastic as me so the info on that side is a bit
sparse. One day I might go to Llangefni and look up the parish records
myself and who knows, find Margaret Roose Hughes. Let me know how you get
on.
Cheers, Keith Roberts
