Subject: Long shot question
Hi there,
I'm mailing you in the hope you will forward my question on to the list. It
is such a long shot, that subscribing to the list seems rather silly :O
I am researching my MORGAN line and there is a family 'story' that living
relatives tell about ancestors living in a house that had ornate gates.
There was, purportedly, a crest on the gates with roosters, and the motto,
written in Welsh, "While I live I crow" beneath.
If this means anything to anyone, I'd be delighted to hear from them.
My earliest research regarding this line puts Robert MORGAN's marriage to
Ann ASHTON in 1814 at Stoke Damerel, Devon.
Robert became the publican of the "Anchor and Hope" Inn in Devonport shortly
afterwards.
thank you very much for reading this
cheers
Jenny in NZ
