"William Horley, a well known and respected citizen of Plymouth, died yesterday
afternoon of a complication of diseases, after a short weeks' illness. The deceased
was born in Pontypool, South Wales, fifty-six years ago and came to the United States in
1865, settling at Millersville, Pa. He removed to Plymouth twelve years ago and was a
member of the Odd Fellows and Red Men's Lodges and a deacon of the English Baptist
Church, also superintendent of the Sunday school of that church. The deceased was a man
of fine Christian character and his death will bring sorrow to a large circle of friends.
He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Lydia, and a brother living in Wales, also a
sister who resides in Lykens.
"The funeral services will be held at his late residence this evening at 7:30
o'clock, and the remains will be taken on the 7 a.m. D.L.&W. train on Thursday to
Lykens, where interment will be made."
