"The many friends of Thomas E. Richards, who for a number of years was employed by
Stoddart & Co., the wholesale grocers, and who was stricken two years ago with
paralysis, died yesterday. He was 45 years of age, and was born in Rhandirmwyn, South
Wales. He came to Wilkes-Barre when a boy and resided here until his death. He was an
affable man when in health and high esteemed by all who had the pleasure of his
acquaintance. His loss will be several felt by his wife and children, Mae, Florence,
Clara, Fannie, Emmerson, Helen and Alice, all of whom are at home. He is also survived by
six sisters, Mrs. Lewis R. Thomas and Mrs. Owen R. Hughes and Miss Marian Richards of this
city, Mrs. David B. Williams of Llandovery, Wales, Mrs. R. Powell of Elmwood, Indiana, and
Mrs. H.G. Medway of Muffalo [typo? Buffalo?].
"The funeral will take place from the residence, 279 South Welles street."
