Hi List,
My name is Pat Campbell (nee Tudor) and I am new to this List. My Gt.
Grandfather Edward TUDOR emmigrated to New Zealand about 1864 and all the
information I have is that he was born in North Wales abt 1834, and was a
Bootmaker. His Death Certificate doesn't show his parents names. My father
had told me that his brothers were Ministers of the Church back in Wales,
although I have no evidence of this. He was a bootmaker here in New Zealand
at the Goldfields and Coalmines. He was about 30 years of age on arrival
and unmarried at that time. It is possible that he may have gone to USA or
Australian goldfields before coming to NZ.
Would anyone know where in North Wales he would have been apprenticed in the
Bootmaking trade?
I am finding it very difficult to trace this line back, and wondered if
anyone is researching the Tudor surname in Nth Wales.
Hope someone might have some suggestions to further my research.
TIA
Pat
