The above names are my gr grandparents. They came to America on a ship
named, EUROCLYDON, which sailed from Liverpool, England in May 1864.
They landed in Nova Scotia and from there moved to and settled in
Southern Ohio in Meigs County. They actually came from Wales, with their
2 children, Ann and William. On William's death certificate it stated
that he was born in Plymouth, Wales.
Does anyone out there know about these folks. Or the area of Plymouth,
Wales.
Please advise & thanks so much in advance.
Sincerely,
Emily Young

Listers,
My 4x gr grandfather, Louis MOVELLE. According to the records I received, he
was a Frenchman born in 1773 in Merasheen, Newfoundland. Although, another
source indicates that he was born on Jersey Island as a Basque fisherman.
Louis married Elizabeth TERRICK. Family history states that she was from
Wales, but where is unknown at this time. They had 11 children, one of which
was Hannah, my 3x gr grandmother. Most of the MOVELLEs married ENNISes of one
sort or another. There were two that married HENNESSEYs, Hannah being one of
them. Are there any TERRICKs out there?
Bill Karr in Peoria, IL., USA

Looking for a connection to my ggrandfather James Tucker Cooms b abt.
1817 Baltimore Md., USA. Family legend has it that his father was the
captain of a ship which was lost at sea. James went to sea sometime
before 1843 in search of his father. Failing to find him he returned to
find his mother and siblings gone. He never saw them again. James
migrated south to Carroll Co., Va. where he met and married Elizabeth
Dunford. About 1855 she died and in 1857 he married Amanda Davis, my
ancestor.
We would like to know if anyone has a similar family story. Possibly
his mother and siblings returned to the old county.
The Combs List is doing a DNA study on the Combs,Coombs, Coomes, etc.
all spellings including Cwms in order to find the connections. Several
matches have been found but not for our line. This makes me think the
family returned.
