Hi all,
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, so just in case I will do so.
There is going to be an informal picnic on Friday, July 9th in Spokane for
all Eastern Washington (or any other) volunteers in the USGenWeb project.
If you are going to be in the Spokane area that afternoon, you are most
welcome to join us. Please contact Maggie Rail at mrail(a)pacnw.com for
directions and details and to let her know if you will be coming. As of
now, it looks like nearly all the volunteers who live in Eastern Washington
will be there, as well as some from the west side, maybe a couple dozen or
more of us! I will be there, and I am really looking forward to meeting all
of you. In addition, I believe that our State Coordinator Celia Tomlin will
be able to make it, so if you can please come join the fun. I will be
driving over from Edmonds that morning, so please save some food for me! I
think it will be great to meet face-to-face with each other and have a fun
time in a social setting, as well as compare notes on our work in the
project. This is not just for County Coordinators, but for any county
assistants or transcription volunteers who have given their efforts to make
our project a success. Perhaps later in the summer we can do something
similar in Western Washington, if anyone is willing to host it.
See you there!
