To that I say AMEN!
I have read the BYLAWS and carefully read the candidates bios. I am also a
subscriber to the USGenWeb-ALL-D(a)RootsWeb.com mail list. I have been most
impressed with this group getting a set of BYLAWS together so quickly and so
efficiently.
I was involved with another group for over a year that argued repeatedly
regarding, you can't write BYLAWS for an organization without having elected
members already in place, with another side stating that you can't have
elected leaders, without first having BYLAWS stating how elections will be
held, and yet another side stating that you had to have nonprofit
corporation papers in place before you could do anything! They also fought
over where the organization should have the corporation papers filed. This
was an international group, and they fought over states & countries! It got
to the point, several of us could not take it any more. There was always
bickering.
I have formed an opinion of the BYLAWS, but will work with whatever the
majority of the voters decide. I tend to agree with Nancy
