Since Voting will take place July 1, I wanted to say one more item on
Genealogy for profit and still Volunteer for Genweb..
Personaly i can not support Lucy to on one hand say "non-profit is
great" and on the other hand "$" and then use Genweb project items for
personal gain. on a quote from OUR Genweb Project:
QUOTE:
USGenWeb Inc. Formed Without Board Knowledge:
On January 1, 1998, Jerry and Lucy Dill and Pat Smith incorporated
(unknown to anyone on The USGenWeb Project Advisory Board) themselves as
a *FOR PROFIT* corporation called
USGenWeb, Inc. When this was discovered by the Advisory Board on March
16, 1998, it came as a great shock since one of the main webpages
(
www.usgenweb.com) was located on a domain maintained by one of the
incorporators. The immediate concern was that volunteers and users of
the website might get the wrong impression that The USGenWeb Project had
become a for-profit organization, which is NOT true.
UNQUOTE:
Maybe this might sound like i'm griping but if someone is going to be my
voice as a CC rep. they should hold tight to the rules of
GenWeb.org I
understand there are folks who think Lucy is right in what she says and
does, that's why if you go to the state of Idaho you will see CLEARLY:
reference to
GenWeb.com a clear violation of our aggreement with the
Genweb.org project and its By laws, if they do not after passing this
admendment declare Idaho
GenWeb.com outcast and in Violation
then.....why have By-Laws and why serve...
Just a personal opinion from a old country boy in SE Wa GenWeb Project.
