Hey, there, Expert Personages!
As "the new kid on the block", I've been confronted by a few
"issues"
re: what it is our sites are supposed to do... the latest concerns an
email from a Title Search company on the East Coast, requesting
information about a former Snohomish County individual.
The email was cordial and professional; I replied that our SnoCo site
was designed to help genealogists and family historians, and suggested
sources that might have the information the title searcher needed.
I've also received email from people inquiring when the Ferry County
Fair would be held, asking for addresses of businesses in FerryCo. and
other such topics.
My question to you is this - have any of you included on your county
page any sort of "disclaimer" to the effect that "this site is NOT an
'official' XXX County government site, nor is it maintained by any XXX
County Chamber of Commerce"??? How do YOU deal with these definitely
NON-genealogical issues?
Now I can hear ONE of you (maybe even MORE than one!) say, "Ignore 'em!"
- but I'm a Mom... I can't ignore 'em!
Thanks for the help!

which probably explains a LOT!)
