Keep this mind, although most Washington counties work pretty good.
Double check your pages, however,

Hiya... I have been meaning to drop you a line for sometime now. I have
a concern about the Genweb sites that I think needs to be addressed. It
seems that most of the State and County sites are running a contest to
see who can have the fanciest web page. Some pages I have visited takes
8-10 minutes to load. While fancy graphics, animated GIF's and music
might be appropriate on some sites, it is not on genealogy sites. Most
folks that visit only want to get information and to post information
and get on with their lives. Recently I polled my local genealogy
society of 120 members about GenWeb. None use it.. reason given was that
it is too time consuming to make it worthwhile. You might want to set up
some guidelines about the use of graphics, music, etc and pass them
along to the State and County webmasters.
A lot of time and effort has gone into GenWeb. Lets not make it an
excercise in futility when it could be such a great tool for
genealogists and others.
Thanks
Perhaps tips on how to make pages load faster would be something the SCs
might consider passing along, as a gentle reminder to the CCs.
