Greetings from down in the corner of the state, where no snow lies only frozen ground.
Since I'm based in Columbia Co and I host Garfield and Asotin Co. I wanted to take
this time to point out a interesting fact printed about one of my volunteers for Garfield
Co Ms Barbara Bartel. Some of you may not know that the Walla Walla Union Bulletin prints
on a article on monday oddly called Monday's Wash, where those little notes of
personal interest from around the area are put to print. Tonights article takes note that
Barbara has had a letter printed in the lastest edition of "National Geographic"
concerning King Williams War or the failed Expedition of England to Quebec in 1690. We
sometimes forget our volunteers to asist us in our daily tasks also may know more then we
do about history. I carry all my voluteers email addresses in one package so we can have
staff meetings or i can pass around notes of interest of which this one is very note
worthy!
Sometimes we take our volunteers for granted and we forget we are volunteers too from the
top to the bottom. So to all my fellow County Coordinators remember to say thanks to your
volunteers who handle your message boards and who help do research because someday, you
may find them in print in a world wide edition like National Geographic.
