Hi Mike,
I just wanted to let you know about several resources for military
records available online on the Secretary of State's webpage. The three
volume set of the Soldiers of the Great War is viewable; however, it is
not searchable. A researcher would need to manually page through the
book. Here is the URL
http://www.secstate.wa.gov/history/publications.aspx?s=5. We are
currently indexing the WWI serviceman cards and Aaberg-Case are
searchable online and available from the Historical Records Search page
<
http://www.secstate.wa.gov/history/search.aspx>; soon images of the
cards will be available online too. There are also two indexes of WWI
soldiers from Spokane County also available on the Historical Records
Search page - Spokane County World War I Soldiers and Spokane County WWI
soldiers in the Newspaper - and the former index has images associated
with the index.
Thanks,
