The good thing with the 3 different search engines I mentioned is they will
read all url's off your main page. You can tell 'em not to read/index a
page and they won't (ever unless you give it new instructions). Once you've
tweeked the borders of your search...all you have to do is tell it to
read/index.
My search engines (rootsweb and Pico) are on the main/opening page. I
only used them once. Suppose I could put 'em on all major pages... (Nah,
too much work)... <grin>
I am going to put some counters on my other major pages though...want
to see who wonders in <grin>

On Island County GenWeb I have a page with just search engines.
I have to agree that a search engine is a good idea on the pages.

minute. I spend more time trying to remember my pass word... <sigh> It
keeps track of what words and areas are being searched.

http://www.atomz.com/ This is also a FREE search engine that comes highly
recommended (yes I would send a quote... if I could find the email). It
also mail reports of which sites are searched to the owner. The person
using it was also happy with it.

Easy to use. Easy to update. Unobtrusive. Slick. with no known complaints.
And yah don't have to be a rocket scientist to set 'em up.
