Greetings to all:
The list admin in me reminds you that out of courtesy to the other members of the mailing

The human being in me is VERY APPRECIATIVE of all the expressions of prayer and support
that I have received, however they came, and I will do my best to respond to each
individually in the coming days.
In the early afternoon of Thursday, December 20, 2001 my father, Clifton Carroll MARTIN,
died at the Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce, Michigan, from heart failure. He had been
hospitalized since December 5, but was well known and liked in the ICU because up until
late Thursday morning he was alert and in good spirits, telling stories and playing cards
with visitors. The end followed an apparently successful pacemaker implant, and the
doctors had been hopeful of a good result. But Dad's heart had done a lifetime's
work, and within an hour slowed down and stopped. He just fell asleep and faded away. By
the grace of God his last days were free of significant pain, and he was well attended
during his hospitalization by local family and members of the First Baptist Church of
Milford, Michigan.
We were all together at Thanksgiving and had a great time, so none should think that our
holidays have been ruined. As you might imagine, though, they have been significantly
altered. Mom is doing much better than one might expect, although she has her moments, of
course.
Well, the archives for every list I admin don't need a full-blown obituary, which I
will post in a day or two on the appropriate lists.
God bless you all, and have a joyous Christmas. The Child who was born that day will
ensure that *I* do, although I too have my moments, of course.
Your list admin,
Darrell
