I would start at the:
General Services Center
Microfilm
US Rte 2, Middlesex
Drawer 33
Montpelier, Vermont
05633-7601
Web site:
http://vermont-archives.org/research/
This is where all records of births, deaths and marriages have been kept
from 1790 to the present on all families, now on microfilm. You can also
order film covering a family from 1790 to the present.
After gathering information in Middlesex, Vt., I would then visit the town
clerks where your relatives lived to see if in the town records or files
have any data that was not sent to the state. Plus it would be time to visit
those cemeteries where your relatives conducted their life.

Subject: [VTGEN] Field Research Sites
There is a lot of information and pointers for doing network based research
but I regularly have questions about the best way to do on site
investigation. I don't have a good answer for people who want to go out into
the field.
Suppose someone is going to take a trip into VT, where are the good places
to visit that allow research work for data not online. Where do they keep
the GOOD VT records, data, etc. that are not available online? Does anyone
know of any resources that help identify these places?
thanks
