Subject: SEMA position
Freddie,
I'm writing you about the Run off position for our Regional
Representative....and hoped you'd work to urge your CCs in Virginia to
VOTE!!
(I know we can't tell CCs how to vote -- but we can encourage them to read
the campaign pages and make up their own minds)
Everyone will be getting their NEW passwords within the next few days.
Voting in the Run-Off Election will begin Thursday, August 12, 2004, 12:01
AM CT, and continue throughThursday, August 26, 2004, 11:59 PM CT.
Linda Barton in the run-off election.

This is her campaign page, and I think it reflects her feelings and
experience so well.

Page for Fred Smoot. Clearly defines his feelings about USGenWeb.
=========================================
Linda respects the Advisory Board whereas her opponent has been outspoken
against USGenWeb and all its leadership over the past years.
I have known and worked with Linda Barton for the past several years while
she has been the representative for the SEMA region.
The CCs have never had such an attentive representative. She keeps them
aware of Board happenings, and asks for their views. With her, there is
never a feeling that decisions are being made "for" us -- but rather that
we all have a voice in USGenWeb.
Whenever a CC has had any issue with the leadership of a state project,
Linda is gets involved to help clarify and resolve the problems. The CCs
know they have someone who is on their side!
Linda responds to all e-mails. CCs never get the feeling that their
e-mail
is not being read or ignored.
Linda is very consistent. If you were to check the record of the AB, she
has been there for voting on all the issues. She considers her role on
the
AB as important, and never shirks her responsibility.
Linda is a CC herself and her experiences in that capacity, help her to
know current problems and needs. She believes in USGenWeb and the great
work that has been done, but is always looking for ways to improve as
well.
I cannot imagine a better person to represent the CCs within SEMA region.
