I was just checking one of the VAGW sites for some information, and then I
remembered that it was one of the ones which suffered losses during the
"care" of the previous CC.
Then I remembered the website we used to recover some material -- and
determine its age and the name of the contributor -- when similar losses
occurred to some NCGW sites.
I'd recommend that those who are caring for previously-damanged sites go to:
http://archive.org/index.php
Use the "Wayback Machine" and then click "Take Me Back." That will
show
you a calendar of times when the robot visited the site and recorded the
contents. If you choose one or more of those, and then click on the link,
it will show you images of what the robot found on those dates, and most
links will show you the old linked pages. You can do a copy and paste into
a new HTML document without much difficulty.
For example, Amherst County will find some material there that was
apparently deleted since the robot visited the site.
