Hello Donna,
Let your husband know I have some ALLENs in VA, 18th Century, unknown
County. I have not performed much research on the line yet, but there are
many ALLENs in VA. Thank you for your answer. When I am researching, I
always try to go into an area with about 50 surnames and short lineages
thereof memorized, for myself and others.
Sincerely,
Douglas

Hi, Douglas!
Off the top of my head, my Hightower's are from VA., starting with Joshua
Hightower b. ca. 1670 in Richmond, VA. American Colonies. My Charnold's
begin with Eleanor, whose father may have been Thomas Charnold who came
over
from England. Also, my Clemmons/Clemons/Clement(s)...line also came
from
VA. I haven't been able to gather much information on the latter. So,
thats something I'm working on right now. I think VA. is probably the
neatest place to "originate" because its so rich with history. One of
these
days, I would love to visit!
Donna
