For what it's worth...
in the early 1700's there was a creek, Chapowamsic, in Stafford County.
One
of the early Lee's of Virginia patented land there.

Chappawamsic Church was organized in November 1766. See Prince William
County.
WHITE OAK
White Oak Church first met as an arm of the Chappawamsic Church in 1771,
under the name of Potomac Church. At a church meeting held at White Oak
meeting house on Saturday, October 24, 1789, the church was constituted.
Elder Andrew Leitch, a member of the new church, was called to serve as
pastor. He was ordained on May 11, 1790. White Oak Church united with the
Ketocton Association in 1792. Later pastors have included Daniel Davis,
John
Clark, Charles H. Waters, John T. Alexander, W. S. Athey, J. A.
Norton,
William L. Bowie, John F. Priest, E. E. Oliver, Thomas W. Alderton, Albert
F. Suddeth, W. G. Fletcher, J. Emory Alderton, Rodger Frazier, J. R.
Kosch,
and Greg Dorough.
