Hi, folks --
There has been some confusion in the last several days about which
server should be used for uploading USGenWeb and WorldGenWeb data.
People have been using different server names to upload their pages,
and since the Great Server Shuffle of a couple weeks ago, a lot of
these server names stopped working.
Someday we'll probably have to move the Web and FTP servers again, and
we'd like to try to avoid this confusion. Here's what you should do
from now on:
All USGenWeb Webmasters should upload their Web pages to
usgw-uploads.rootsweb.com
All WorldGenWeb Webmasters should upload their Web pages to
wgw-uploads.rootsweb.com
Your other FTP settings should all stay the same. The only thing that
needs to change is the FTP Hostname.
If everyone uses these hostnames for uploading their data, it'll make
things an awful lot smoother the next time we have to move RootsWeb
servers around. Thanks!
