Good Morning and H A P P Y N E W M I L L E N N I U M ! ! !
Just passing along a tid-bit of information that may be overlooked while
preparing our sites for the Y2K change.
If anyone has implemented .CGI or .PL scripts within their web sites may
want to look at those files in an editor to see if "date" variables are
within them.
Many that send e-mail automatically with programs such as FormMail, has
date structures hard coded inside them for the 20th century. Just look
for this area and change the "19$year" to "20$year" and that should
do
it. (Also look for areas that may say something about dates that have
"1900" or "20" for the century and change them to "2000" and
"21")
Others may be a bit more complicated than simply changing a date or
century within it so you may want to check the author's web site and see
if they have a Y2K update or patch/hack for it. Don't forget to upload
the change to the site "after" midnight (if phones are still up and
running).
Please pass this on to all CC's... Thanks!
