Hi everyone,
The BMD Project has a new *permanent* home! The URL is now
http://bmdproject.rootsweb.com . The URLs have changed as follows:
Post a record:
http://bmdproject.rootsweb.com/login.shtml
Search:
http://bmdproject.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi
FAQ's:
http://bmdproject.rootsweb.com/faq.shtml
In a few minutes, I will be redirecting all of the scripts on tn-3 over
to
the new URL. Feel free to go ahead and change the links from your pages
as
soon as you get a chance. You might also want to send an announcement
to
your state lists...please don't forward this note, as it has some stuff
specifically for managers in it.
I am also placing the death records section of the database into beta
testing. So far, the states I've added to this section are: FL, NC, NY,
OH, and VA. If your state is not included and you'd like it to be,
please
let me know ASAP. Also, if your header graphic is specifically for the
marriages section and you'd like a new one for the death records, send
it
along and I'll make the changes (you can change the header and footer
files
as well if you'd like).
Two new features have been added:
1) Submitters can now upload photographs to go with the death record
they
are submitting.
2) Managers will receive an email notification whenever a new record is
added to their sections. The email will include a link to the full
record; please check these to make sure the pictures being uploaded are
appropriate. If you find any questionable graphics, let me know,
providing
the full URL.
Tomorrow I am moving back to FL, making stops in OH and PA first. I'll
be
able to check email from time to time, but unless something major
happens,
I most likely will not be making updates to the project until after
Thanksgiving. When I get back, I'll write the scripts to edit death
records. In the meantime, the new URL for the marriage record edit
script is
http://bmdproject.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/admin.cgi
Thanks to all those that helped during the intial testing period!
Marceline
