Dear Ms Lewis,
I hope you are interested, or know organizations or individuals who
might
like to purchase a *private collection of over 650 genealogy books*
and sundry periodicals. These books were chosen particularly and used
by the late Charles Hughes Hamlin, C.G. in his professional work as a
genealogist with a primary focus on Virginia.
The entire collection is now offered for sale, intact. We regret that
no requests for a single item nor a selected list can be accommodated.
Mr. Hamlin, distinguished as a genealogist, over the years carefully
assembled the items in this extensive library so he could do almost all
his
research work independently, seldom needing to travel to a larger
center.
Therefore, this collection could be *the nucleus of a fine library* for
an
organization or individual serious about genealogical research. It might
be right for you or a group purchase by your local genealogical society.
To give you an idea of the dimension of his activities, he was a member
of
Society of Colonial Wars, Jamestowne Society, Founders and Patriots of
America, Huguenot Society, Sons of the American Revolution, Augustan
Society, National Genealogical Society, Virginia Genealogical Society,
Kentucky Genealogical Society, American Legion, and Veterans of
Foreign Wars.
His published writings:
* Lineage Book, Cincinnati Chapter, Ohio Society, Sons of the American
Revolution, 1958
* They Went Thataway, Vol. I, 1964; Vol. II, 1965; Vol. III, 1967
2nd edition, 1974, (3 vol. in 1), Genealogical Publishing Co.,
Inc.
* Virginia Ancestors & Adventurers, Vol I, 1970; v II, 1971; v III, 1973
2nd edition, 1976, (3 vol. in 1), Genealogical Publishing Co.,
Inc.
* Over 40 articles in genealogy magazines and regional periodicals
A 20-page detailed list of the 654 books in this collection is available
either as a print-out or an attached file in Microsoft Excel. If you
have
interest, or know someone who might, please get in touch. Please
submit bids or make inquiries via e-mail or telephone 843-272-6988.
Thank you, and best regards,
Vicki Hamlin Warner
