Subject: [STATE-COORD-L] USGenNet: IRS Approval
Dear fellow State Coordinators:
The United States Genealogy Network, Inc. is pleased to announce that
the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, in record-breaking time, yesterday
granted final and permanent approval of our December 2, 1999 application
for 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, charitable status.
USGenNet, a public benefit corporation founded in July 1998 by Internet
Researchers Lucy and Jerry Dill and Patrick Smith, provides Safe-Site
Services to not-for-profit Internet historical and genealogical
organizations, including the USGenWeb Project and the American Local
History Network, Inc as well as a number of historical and genealogical
societies.
USGenNet is supported solely by tax-deductible membership dues and
patron contributions.
Perhaps you would be so kind as to pass this along to your County
Coordinators to make them aware of their server options.
Sincerely,
Fred Smoot, President
United States Genealogy Network, Inc.
