Well, Steve and Bunny sure got my attention. If that was their goal, they
were successful. However, I think they could have been a little more
tactful about it.
And, likewise to Vic's comment, Floyd County is not even mentioned on their
site. It was formed in 1831, after their period of coverage - but it should
be mentioned that it was part of Montgomery County during the 1790-1800
period. However, there are no entries for Montgomery County either. Like
Vic, I resent the implication that no "free" info is offered on our county
site. Furthermore, I think that saying that, is a slap in the face for all
of the volunteers that offer to do free lookups for visitors to our site.
They deserve better treatment than that! I think Steve and Bunny owe those
volunteers an apology!
Having said this, I sincerely hope that Steve and Bunny continue their
effort to compile the tax lists. And, if and when they have something that
would be of interest to Floyd County researchers, I would be happy to
provide a link to their site. My interest is to the researchers and
volunteers that help make our site better, not to be some kind of monopoly
of information. As genealogists, both amateur and professional, we need
each other to help in this common effort. I spent over forty years doing it
alone. Believe me, what we have on the USGenWeb is far better!

Wise County wasn't around in that time period and the counties Wise was
formed from aren't on their list.
I've never been asked by them to place a link nor would I now that they ask
so sweetly. And I do believe that I've provided a bit more than little or no
info on the Wise site so they forgot to look at my site : (
They forgot to mention that not only do they have the images online but they
are also available for purchase.

I have this link on my sites, I do not agree with the way their request was
composed. Probably since, if it were not for a great bunch of volunteers, my
sites would be bare.
I am the Website administrator and Barb Stanley is the assistant. for
Loudoun County
Rockbridge County
Botetourt County
Roanoke County
Patrick County
Craig County formed 1851
At this time i want to say a special thank you to the administrators that
had these sites before me, and to all the volunteers who have spent many
hours compileing work to be added to these county archives, and to encourage
everyone to continue sending information to be added.
