Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Dear me - Lunenburg mailing list? Me, a native of Lunenburg & didn't even
know!
I thought VASouthSide covered us.
No, you are not crazy (just famous).
Seriously, I love to spot a record that shows an individual in two or more
locations,
and think it would make a valuable compilation. On my pages, from the
start, I have
had a "Hither & Yon" section, but no one ever contributed to it, so I
decided it must
by my own little party thing.
Let me know when you get your project going and I will ... well, I was
going to say I would
dig through what I have, but do they have to have been *famous* - is there
something
in between infamous and famous??

Since most of you have mailing lists for your counties, you might be
interested in starting a project like the one I proposed to the
Lunenburg mailing list. (why do I DO this?? LOL!) Ask for volunteers of
course!! ;)
I'm going to toy with a "where did they go?" project.. and based on
census records, gather information from all over (mailing list
subscribers, search engines, etc etc), to include on an html page some
brief facts about each person (married, died, where, famous, etc.).
Am I crazy or what??

I saw the rootsweb list of new mailing list, this morning, and noticed one
for the
Virginia Tidewater Mailing List (VATIDEWATER).
I don't know who the listowner is, but I have made mention of it on the New
Kent Co. site with directions on how to subscribe.

YEA!!!

I think we need to clarify one thing here...
My understanding is that the new ballots are strictly to make sure
everybody has one, and that if a person's already voted, they don't need
to use the new ballot and vote again.
Is this correct? I'm sure it's going to be the first question from the
cc's....

Linda,
I'm sure you are aware both Tim and Nancy did a mailing promoting their
candidacy for NC. If you would like a volunteer to gather email address for
a mailing let me know, I would be glad to help.
Mike
Hello all,
Mind if I brag for a moment?
I have had Pulaski County for about a week now. We've had 15 new queries,
two offers for lookups (one for records in the courthouse), and an offer to
assist in gathering information for the site.
So, sorry people, but I got the "pick of the crop". (I hope it keeps up<g>)
Thanks to all of you for your efforts, it's because of your hard work that
I'm here!

Linda,
I've got a Rootsweb account for City of Lynchburg and have been working
on setting up the page, aside and apart from Campbell County.
CAM
Thanks for the offer, Mike, but I'd prefer not to do a mass mailing.
Instead, Yvonne set up a message board. That way, it's more inter-active
and *LIVE* with Linda. LOL!!
Linda
Oops. Wanted to apologize for the lame post I put up here. I wasn't paying
attention to who the message was from--nor who I applied to. All I can say
is it's been a very long day.

You need to contact Nancy Trice trice(a)vci.net She can guide you to the right

Unfortunately, it looks as if I am going to have to go back to work
full-time when school starts. I have enjoyed having the last three and a
half years to stay at home with my kids, but my checkbook says it just
can't take it any more. I'm sorry to say, I will no longer have the time
necessary to maintain a county page in the manner in which it deserves.
And rather than see that happen, I am hoping one of you would like to take
it over, or know of someone who would. If so, let Linda or myself know.
I've had fun with it and wish I could have been a cc longer than I have,
but I know it just won't be possible. I intend to try to maintain the
archive pages that I manage, and I think that in itself will be a load with
a full-time job, two young children, and my own personal research. Thanks
to you all,
Jeannie
