Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I thought I would never be able to implement a new query system, as
everything I have
read was too painful for my po' head.
I gave the above a try. It was simple and *exactly* what I wanted.
Thanks for the alert.

Jo Lee,
I made such a list for Rockbridge. It would be nice if all of us could make
such a list for the county we live in, or find someone else who is willing to
do the same and send it to the coordinator of that county. Even if it is not
the county we are intersted in regarding our ancestors, it may have a spiral
effect.

Is there a one-stop-shop to determine, for a given county, searchable
county records that remain at the county court house, and those that have
been sent to Richmond?
People, who have planned a trip, often inquire about this, not always in
time for them to snail mail.
This has probably been covered in deleted mail. Sorry.

This is the system created for KYGenWeb and offered to anyone wanting to
use it. The USGW one should be offered, soon, and will be compatible
with all. (I think!)

Thanks Freddie for a great job!
Everyone should have a link to the "unknown county query page" and the
"surname registry" pages for VAGenWeb:

I apologize for being so quiet lately, althought maybe that's a "good
thing." <g> We are in the process of moving to a new house, five miles
away. This is harder than when I moved from VA to CA two years ago!
Everyone is doing a fantastic job!
Thanks,
Linda
To date, the Virginia Surname Register has:
4256 surnames registered, with
7747 "mailto:" links, to
2592 unique email addresses, and
1937 "http:" links, to

And it just keeps growing.

Is there counties called:
Autago, Elmore or Flunna. These are counties that I was told my
relatives used to live in.>>
Freddie, would these come under "unknown counties"? <g>
I told them probably Augusta and Fluvanna, and Dunmore?
Linda
For those neighboring counties that have a link posted to the
Washington County page, the address has changed. The new URL is:
