Please keep Jeff in your prayers.
Jeff started KYGenWeb and then USGenWeb, and many researchers are

>Just a note to let you all know how I'm doing.
>
>I just got out of the hospital today after a 3 day stay. I was feeling
>pretty bad all last week, and finally went to the doctor Saturday. He
>diagnosed the problem as internal bleeding and stuck me in right away.
>Turned out that my cirrhosis had caused large vericose veins in my stomach
>(and probably elsewhere), and I was down to about 1/3 the volume of blood a
>normal person would have. They transfused me with 4 pints and did an
>endoscopy (where they stick a camera down in your stomach, just for fun).
>At any rate, the bleeding has been stopped, and I'm back home. I'm still
>very anemic, and consequently very tired, but hopefully am going to recover
>soon.
>
>I got a call from my brother in Ft. Worth last night. Turns out he has had
>exactly the same diagnosis. So it appears to be genetic.
>
>I'm supposed to get an appointment with a liver specialist within a week or
>so, and will possibly know more then. As I indicated earlier, cirrhosis is
>ultimately fatal, with a transplant being the only possible solution. I
>just hope I have time to get some more of my Muhlenberg Co. database
>finished first.
>
>No need for a lot of good luck messages; I just wanted you to know where I
>stood - or lay, in this case. I haven't the energy to answer a lot of
>mail, anyway.
