I know as SC, that I often ask for a list of CC's from the EC when I'm
contacted. Many times over the years, I couldn't remember if I had changes
to my list or not between elections/updates, because I often forgot to
update the date on the spreadsheet. I alway verify my county coordinator
page with my list, my list with the EC list. That way, I know where I am. I
also know when I ask for a roll call from my CC's that only 1/2 will answer
me. The other half, I always wonder about, but as long as they keep their
sites updated, I don't nag, just check their sites for an updated email
address in case they changed it for some reason and didn't let me know. I
haven't had any of my CC's die on me in a couple years, but did have 2 just
bail for no reason.
Hopefully I've never "blown off" the EC request, or anyone else's
request,
but sometimes especially when traveling with my hubby for his work, or when
I'm visiting with my mom (with no internet), I don't have my laptop to be
able to verify what they want, or to do research for someone, or to reply
quickly because I'm only on my phone, where I hate doing any kind of
business. Then by the time I get home, I've just plain forgotten, because
of time and circumstances. I have days where I get over 50 or 60 emails
during a day.
We are all human, with personal lives, we forget, we over compensate, we
aren't as detailed as we need to be, but we try, some more than others.
But, we also need to be responsible adults, and adhere to the rules of the
organization to be able to keep it going. The USGenWeb Project is and needs
to be kept a vital, relevant organization.

Absolutely agree -- but the first problem is when SCs/PCs treat requests
for information from the EC as irrelevant non-sequiturs.
At first contact from the EC, many SCs/PCs request a spreadsheet of their
registered members from the EC (they don't know who they're members are?)
Responsible ones respond with corrections to the records held by the EC
and there are several.
But there are a few who respond to any contact from the EC saying the
EC's records are "a joke" without offering any corrections; and a few more
who don't respond at all.
The latter puts the EC in an impossible position insofar as maintaining an
up-to-date Membership Roll.
