Dan, this sounds like a great idea when thinking of the recent sites that might be lost.
However, there are several questions that I have with my limited project experience and I
expect someone with a lot of project experience will have many more questions.
1. How would this be paid for?
2. How would you get this implemented?
3. Would a by-laws change be involved?
4. Would the states that already have their own domain-name and pay to host the state site
(and counties of that state that are included in the domain-name) accept this?
5. Would all the individual county coordinators who host their own counties be willing to
accept this?

We also lost Joyce Recently too.
A few years ago it was a topic on ALHN to have so many dead state and
county list out there.
It might be time for the genweb to host all sites and let helpers
have ftp access to make changes?
