Hi Gail,
There is an easier way to recover the site! Download a program called
HTTrac (
http://www.httrack.com). Just plug in the URL for the main page
and let it download the WHOLE site! Then you can pick and choose what to
put bnack up on the new site. It will take a few minutes to an hour,
depending how large the site it. I downloaded a 58,000 page website in
about 45 min when my old laptop died and could recover none of the data
from it.
To request webspace from rootsweb go to
http://accounts.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ However I could not load that page,
so maybe they are no longer giving free webspace!
Maybe Genealogy Village for webspace, I think it is something like 10 bucks
a year? Because of the past issues with RW being offline I have pretty
much moved all my sites off rootsweb and issues with being unable to access
sites I have there via FTP.
Pretty much I think the days of free webhosting are the bygone days! Maybe
contact Joy Fisher about space on her hosting service.
Good Luck!

First, Wayback is NOT automatic. Make sure you take every site
you've got
and register the main link at The WayBack Machine--- it will crawl every
bit of it each month.
Ok. Starting from here
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~azgenweb/
Cochise = Pat
Go to The WayBack Machine.... got this:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.mycochise.com/
Was indexed up through Nov 10th 2016
BUT some is missing, methinks.
Look up WhoIs on her web link-- it appears to be a GoDaddy site
https://whoislookup.ninja/whois/mycochise.com
It was last Updated Date: 28-aug-2016
Soooo....
Step 1.
At Wayback, copy-save every linked page you can find. Put in a temp Web
folder.
Step 2.
Call Go Daddy and ask if you could pretty please have all data on the site,
even if you have to pay for 1 yr. Make claim to GoDaddy that all content
is under USGenWeb copyright as the "real owner" and you just found out
volunteer died-- they might bend and cooperate better.
Between both methods, you should get back 80-100% but you'll have to put it
all back together if you do Step 1. Hassle but it works.
If I got the wrong website, same suggestions apply.
