Once upon a time there was a small group of individuals that had the
dream of providing free genealogical and historical information to the
masses. But how to accomplish it. At about the same time there was
another fairly new genealogical and historical group. The two groups got
together and made a deal for FREE unlimited storage space on the
internet. Part of the agreement was that the service provider wouldn't
put their "brand" on the web pages of the first group. All was well with
the world. Well, time passed and, as all things must, things changed.
The service company changed hands. This caused a bit of concern with the
genealogy group but all was well and things got back to normal. The
space was unlimited and still free. After a short time, in the time
frame of the Universe, the server company said they were going to put
their "ad" on the pages. This caused a major uproar and the genealogical
group held a mass exodus to paid service providers. Server farms are
expensive to run and maintain. As time passed the expense of the service
provider started to become a burden. Not a big burden but
still..............
